“Space 42 combines art and tech in one building”
“The warehouse may still be a work in progress, but that hasn’t stopped Space 42’s owners from adding programming to it. The 20,000-square-foot open-space building at 2670 Phyllis St. houses what Kevin Calloway calls “the convergence of art, technology and design.”
Inside, a tech and design center works over a large wood table in one corner, while a 10,000-square-foot gallery space features art. A pop-up shop will sell local art pieces in another section, and a coffee shop on the patio is in the works. In the backyard, a garden is planned, which will be created in conjunction with La Villa sustainable garden. Mark McComb’s neighboring Renaissance Jax space is involved with Space 42 as well.
